This is a Dorrance Left Model 5, named after the original inventor of the prosthetic hook hand. The hook was a significant step forward in terminal devices of the time in its ability to allow the user to grip and manipulate objects. Cable operated limbs work by attaching a harness and cable around the opposite shoulder of the damaged arm. Small size, possibly for a woman or teenager. C.1950
